Gems of the BIFF : "Half Term"

Sometimes, you find a good film simply by stumbling onto it.  "Half Term" is one of these.   In less than a half an hour, Tony Hagger's  film  realistically exposes more teenage angst  than many studio films could do in four times as much time.  Each performer is identifiable, especially the lead character  who reminds this writer of a slightly less tormented and decidedly less annoying Igby in  "Igby Goes Down".  While a bit rough in some transitions, the film's worst problem had nothing to do with themselves. Unfortunately it was paired with an incredibly bad feature film.   However, festival goers were able to get beyond that, and remember this semi-short as a gem of the festival.
