The winners of the 4th Bangkok International Film Festival Golden Kinnaree Awards were announced at a gala black-tie dinner attended by international dignitaries from around the world last night.
HRH Princess Ubol Rattana presented the Kinnaree award to winners selected by an international jury of producers, actors and directors from the entertainment industry.

The Bangkok International Film Festival recognizes Wouter Barendrecht and Michael J. Werner's contribution to Asian Cinema and will present their company Fortissimo Films with a Golden Kinnaree during the black tie Awards Gala on February 24 th . In making the announcement, Director of Programming Jennifer Stark stated, "The Bangkok International Film Festival is proud to recognize the incredible cultural contributions to Asian cinema that Wouter and Michael have made. Such is the strength of Thai-made movies that they will not be put into a separate category at the upcoming Bangkok International Film Festival (BIFF) but will instead be placed in general categories alongside films from overseas.
BIFF director of programming, Jennifer Stark, said films made by Thai directors are now so good that they don’t need a special showcase of their own and can compete favourably in an international line-up.
